PLEORA brings high-performance imaging expertise to NBASE-T Alliance

Pleora Technologies is the first company from the machine vision industry to join the NBASE-T Alliance, a consortium collaborating on new technologies that extend the bandwidth capabilities of twisted-pair copper cabling using standard Ethernet technology.

The alliance has released the NBASE-T specification, which defines a new type of Ethernet signaling that boosts the speed of twisted-pair cabling up to 5 Gigabit per second (Gbps) – well beyond its designed limit of 1 Gbps – for distances up to 100 meters. Initially developed for wireless access points coping with increasing data requirements, NBASE-T technology is a natural evolution for high-performance imaging thanks to its increased bandwidth, low-cost cabling, and compatibility with existing GigE Vision software. COGNEX
Bosch serialization solution uses high-speed ID reader for counterfeit-proof medicines

Image The In-Sight 5613 vision system with high read rates is the heart of an inspection and identification module for track-and-trace solutions from Bosch Packaging Technology.
In late 2016 a new European counterfeiting directive is coming into force prohibiting the sale of prescription medicines without clear labeling. The pharmaceuticals industry is under pressure, since the new rules require manufacturers and distributors of medicines to use end-to-end track & trace solutions to ensure traceability along the entire supply chain..

FRAMOS develops miniature CMOS sensors for endoscopy and medical technology

Image For medical endoscope manufacturers, three criteria are particularly important when selecting the right image sensors: Minimal size with high resolution, long-term availability and an optimal price to performance ratio. The technological change from CCD to CMOS sensors also offers huge opportunities in medical diagnostics, however, there are no standard sensors for endoscopes. Mostly, customized sensors with a production quantity under 50.000 pieces are not rentable in production due to high on-off-costs.

The imaging experts at FRAMOS are now closing that gap. As a technical consultant and development partner for many years, FRAMOS will launch its own image sensors, especially designed for the needs of the medical industry and endoscopy at the MEDICA 2016. Read more ›
