Germany's Matrix Vision GmbH recently introduced the mvBlueLYNX-X, which is described as a small but powerful intelligent camera.
The mvBlueLYNX-X, which uses the Freescale i.MX 51 processor, has a wide range of interfaces. OEMs and system integrators benefit from the use of a significantly more powerful processor, says the firm. In combination with the latest image sensors and a multitude of integrated hardware accelerators, the camera can be used, for example, in image-processing, medical and life science applications and for surveillance.
For development work the company says that it will offer a .NET compatible MONO interface. This enables developers to create .NET-based cross-platform applications and to use them on the mvBlueLYNX-X without having to further compile code.
