In Hall 8, stand 8B50, machine vision experts present the most commonly used digital interface standards in the industry in their current versions and stand by for advice on which standard should be used best for a certain application.
Furthermore new standards initiatives will be introduced.

International Vision Night

The Corona pandemic still has a strong impact on our private and business activities and obviously this is valid also for the upcomming Vision 2021 in Stuttgart. Trade show organiser ‘Messe Stuttgart’ already had dismissed all usual evening events like booth parties and the well known show highlight, the ‘Exhibitor’s Eve’. Now the EMVA follows that example and informs that the popular Vision Night networking event on the evening before the trade show will not be held this time.

‘We are very disappointed that current restrictions have not allowed the EMVA to host the popular traditional International Vision Night’, said Thomas Lübkemeier, EMVA General Secretary. ‘Local rules in Baden-Wurttemberg are pointing exactly against everything the EMVA likes to achieve with a networking event. Meeting and the direct personal exchange with peers in a pleasant setting is very unlikely to be possible this year, but we look forward to the return of the International Vision Night in the future when restrictions have eased‘.

Board members to have the constituent meeting in the highly appreciated ‘old-fashioned’ in-person format on August 4-5, 2021, at the premisses of EMVA member Zeiss Automated Inspection Systems.

According to the EMVA Statutes the Board members elected the Board roles as follows, Dr. Chris Yates (Vision Ventures) continues leading the EMVA as President, Prof. Bernd Jähne (Heidelberg University) serves as Vice President and Arndt Bake (Basler) monitors the financials as Treasurer.

Terrestrial lidar scanners and sophisticated new mathematical models help engineers model dams to understand safety and risks.

TIS Cameras: “Easy to Work with in a Complex Automation System”.

Industrial automation solutions provider Teomsi Electric Company recently worked with Ecolor and WIP Industries Romania, manufacturers of flat-pack furniture, in the development of inspection systems to detect drill holes on furniture components. For the vision systems, Teomsi selected The Imaging Source’s DMK33GX264, GigE industrial cameras, and MVTec’s comprehensive machine vision software, HALCON.

Sergiu Vais, project manager at Teomsi, noted that his company selected The Imaging Source’s industrial cameras for the projects’ vision systems because the cameras are “easy to work within a complex automation system.” Read more ›

For proof of concept, rapid prototyping and small series production, AU-Zone and Toradex, working in close cooperation with Vision Components, have developed the modular Maivin i.MX 8M Plus AI Vision Kit. The developer kit is based on a Toradex Verdin i.MX 8M Plus System-on-Module and a carrier board, which AU-Zone designed for vision applications and which accommodates up to two VC MIPI camera modules. The kit is scheduled to be ready for shipping in Q3 2021.
