Experts of vision related standards from around the world met 12-16 October in Chicago, US, for their 2015 fall meeting supported by the global G3 group (AIA, EMVA, JIIA, VDMA and CMVU). The 70 attendees representing 36 companies discussed the further development of various vision related standards in the different working groups. Like for the EMVA hosted software standard GenICam finalising preparation of the much faster and leaner version 3.0 also the other standard working groups look forward to new releases in the near future. Major topics were the improvements related to 3D cameras, 3D images and 3D video support amongst others.
Allways being one of the highlights, the meeting ended with the traditional plugfest where engineers apply the standards connecting a wide range of products to test compatibility, functionality and technical performance.
