Getting close to the year’s end we look back to a very special year for the EMVA. Founded 2003 in Barcelona, for 20 years now our association serves its members and the machine vision industry in general.
With the EMVA Business Conference in Sevilla the vision community came back to Spain and besides celebrating EMVA’s anniversary, more than 110 attendees enjoyed highly informative presentations and excellent networking.
The spot couldn’t have been better – thanks to Sevilla!
But obviously the year 2023 is challenging our industry and predictions from vision company leaders indicate an ongoing difficult economic situation also in 2024.
EMVA’s quarterly survey on vision revenues in Europe for Q3-2023 shows a negative growth of 15% compared to the same quarter in 2022 and also compared to previous quarters in 2023 a negative trend has been established.
On the other hand our machine vision industry may count on a tremendous potential of innovation, just to name AI as one topic, vision players will react flexible on the challenges and the general pressure towards an increased level of automation in enduser industries promise a path for future growth.
The EMVA looks forward to several events in 2024, starting with the first ever joint member booth at the LogiMAT tradeshow, the annual highlight conference in Gdansk, Poland in June and the European Machine Vision Forum.
Last but not least we look forward to the VISION 2024 in Stuttgart, surely again the place to be for machine vision players from Europe and abroad. The EMVA will be present with a booth addressing international vision standards and in good tradition we will host the International Vision Night the eve before the show opens.
The EMVA Board of Directors and the whole EMVA team wishes you and your family peaceful holidays and a prosperous New Year.

Perfectly printed coins thanks to machine vision
|
|
|
The Hamburg Mint, one of the oldest mints in Germany, has been using machine vision since the early 2000s to automate various production steps, such as aligning of coins during packaging or various quality control tasks.
In the context of another project, we were confronted with the problem that the exact positioning of the coins during the printing process was very time-consuming. In close cooperation with the customer, a machine vision system has been developed over the last 10 months to automate this process and has been successfully proving itself in daily use since May.
